Decorating the baby's room

 

To decorate this room my Mum and I projected the 

image we wanted on to the wall and using a darker 

shade of pink we painted over the projected image.

Haywain-Constable using marmite

One of my 100 tasks set for homework was to draw Haywain

using Jam or marmite.

These are two painting I did at college using ink. It was a black ink but when you added water to it, it often turned a rusty, orange colour and even blue in some sections. I love this effect as it added a little more depth to my still life.

Painting using food colouring

For one of my project I had to create to painting using food colouring.

I found the process simular to watercolours only they were stronger

and the colours lasted ages on the brush before I had to dip it in the

colouring again.

How to make paper

First you want to collect recycled envelopes, newspapers, scrap papers,

cardboard etc. and if you want, add to boiled plants like nettles, blackberries,

raspberry's etc. If not then tear the papers up and cover them in water to boil.
Once the papers begin to tear away from one another blender the mixture.

 You can also add fibres like from the hoover or even the tumble

 dryer to create paper full of textures and fibres.

 Then pour the mixture into a large sink or tub and fill it up with at least

 over halfway of water.

Using a metal mesh run it through the water so the mesh is coated in the

mixture.

Place the mesh onto a board with the mixture side up, and lay a jay

 cloth over the top to help draw the liquid out. You want to apply

a lot of pressure so I would put a board over the top and stand on

it. Then peel the mesh off and the mixture should stay on the jay cloth,

leave out until completely dry and peel the paper away from the cloth.

On the left is the nettle paper and on the right is blackberries with pressed

flowers. As you can see there are lots of tickets in the paper as

this was part of my summer project.

Handmade Christmas touches!

Christmas is finally here! Every year my mum, sisters and I make bags of fudge, each with their own hand tied ribbon of raffia and a handmade luggage label. We also made our own wrapping paper using a range of stamps and Christmassy colours.

2D Design Pages

My project brief was to design some wallpaper for a new Paperchase

store opening in Newyork. The theme had to relate to Newyork in 

some way.   

This is the first piece I produced, using a basic skyline to

 represent lots of buildings all of different heights.

This is the second piece I produced; my favourite out

of the two. I came about this design using The Statue of Liberty

as inspiration; I took ideas from the torch and from the head

piece and combined them to create this repeat pattern.
